Principal Software Engineer & Cloud Solutions Architect

Building Solutions That Actually Work

I’m Chris Worth, a Principal Software Engineer specializing in cloud architecture, DevOps automation, and modern web application development. I design scalable Azure infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines that eliminate deployment friction, and create full-stack applications that solve real problems. I’m particularly interested in infrastructure as code, containerization strategies, and leveraging AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality.

What I Build

I focus on practical automation and efficient system design. My projects range from enterprise-scale deployments to personal experiments with modern web frameworks. Whether it’s Power Platform solutions, DevOps tooling, or web applications, I’m drawn to problems that require both technical depth and creative thinking.

What I’m Working On

Cloud Architecture & Azure

Designing production-ready cloud infrastructure with proper governance, security, and cost optimization. I build multi-environment Azure solutions using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates), implement Azure Functions for serverless workflows, and architect scalable deployments with Container Apps and AKS. Current focus: zero-trust security models and cross-region disaster recovery.

DevOps & CI/CD

Building deployment pipelines that turn commits into production releases automatically. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Docker containerization, and deployment automation are my daily tools. I create PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripts that eliminate manual operations and reduce deployment time from hours to minutes.

Modern Web Development

Building full-stack applications with SvelteKit, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. I leverage AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor) to rapidly prototype and iterate while maintaining type safety and performance. Recent projects include Billzzz (personal finance manager) and SpiceTrader (adaptive trading bot). This site itself is built with Hugo and deployed on Azure Static Web Apps.

Enterprise Low-Code Solutions

Creating Canvas Apps, Power Automate flows, and ALM tooling for rapid business application deployment. I’ve built workflow modernization systems, colony tracking apps, and custom ALM suites. This work focuses on bridging the gap between citizen developers and enterprise-grade deployment practices.

Development Approach

I leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate project delivery while maintaining code quality. Using tools like Claude Code, I rapidly prototype SvelteKit applications and Hugo sites, architect scalable solutions, and debug complex issues efficiently. This approach allows me to quickly adapt to new frameworks and patterns, translating concepts into working implementations faster than traditional workflows—without sacrificing best practices or technical rigor.

Notable Projects

Billzzz

A self-hosted personal finance manager built with SvelteKit and SQLite. Tracks bills, manages variable spending with smart budget cycles, and projects debt payoff strategies. No subscriptions, no third-party data sharing—just a local database you control. View project →

SpiceTrader

An adaptive cryptocurrency trading bot that automatically switches between five trading strategies based on real-time market analysis. Built as a proof of concept for intelligent algorithmic trading on Kraken. View project →

ByeByeSpotify

A Python CLI tool for comprehensive Spotify library export to JSON and CSV formats. Implements OAuth 2.0 PKCE authentication and handles API pagination to enable platform-independent music library preservation and migration. View project →

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

I design and deploy production Azure environments using Infrastructure as Code. Projects include multi-region container deployments, Azure Functions for dynamic routing, CI/CD pipelines for .NET and Node applications, and automated environment provisioning with Terraform. Most of this work is proprietary, but the patterns show up in my technical writing about cloud architecture and DevOps automation.

Moon Astronomical API

RESTful API providing lunar data and astronomical calculations. Clean, simple, and useful for anyone building moon phase features into their apps. View project →

Enterprise Solutions

I’ve built numerous enterprise solutions including workflow automation platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and custom business applications. Most of this work is proprietary, but the patterns and lessons learned show up in my blog posts about automation strategies, DevOps practices, and enterprise application lifecycle management.
